How does a salt free water softener work? Salt free water softeners work
by binding the calcium (hard water minerals) in your water but, unlike water softeners, they don’t actually remove the hard water minerals. This allows the system to effectively combat scale buildup in your pipes but doesn’t “soften” water like a traditional salt system would.
What is salt free water softener? Salt free water softeners
aren’t really water softeners at all. They’re water conditioners that crystallize calcium (hard water minerals) but don’t actually remove them. This means that calcium won’t be able to adhere to the insides of your pipes (reducing scale buildup in your plumbing) but it won’t soften your water once it exits the pipes. So if your only need is to reduce scale buildup, this system will work for you.
